Exploring new worlds…what an adventure! What might be up ahead, do I trust who leads me? Will I take the steps requiring courage? Will I accept the invitation to go? What do I need to release in order to be free and enjoy this amazing journey?

These questions and several Bible verses welled up inside me as I painted and experimented with wood burning and mixing different paints, pencils, stencils, pan pastels, brushes, and my fingers…even attaching one of the feathers I’ve been collecting for years. But the overwhelming feeling was freedom—freedom with the joy and courage of a child dancing in the wind.

Does anyone else see the eagle that a void in the wood created? I didn’t see it until it was finished. 🦅

The canvas is a large slice of a white pine tree measuring 25x23x2 inches that has been drying in the field for over a decade. 🌲 I love finding things and giving them a new life.
