Guardian depicts a large hawk soaring through a snowy sunset. His wings lift him up and protect a nest full of baby birds, and there is a young "hitch-hiker" tucked into his feathers. His eyes are multi-colored and alert to the world he soars over. I just love the layers of meaning that accumulated as I apply layers of different materials! One of the first layers was the writing of song lyrics from "The Father's House" by Cory Asbury. The finishing layer is oil paint to give it even more rich depth.
